How to employ a babysitter| My Super Nanny

(note: cape and underpants outside the pants is optional)

Emergencies happen

From breaking Mr. Fluffy to breaking a finger. Accidents happen. Putting together an emergency information checklist can save you and your nanny a lot of stress and subsequent trips to the hairdresser to cover stressed induced grey hairs. This list should include information such as; family GP details, any allergens and a secondary contact; preferably one close by like a neighbour.

Timetable

Scotty has soccer on Mondays, footy on Tuesdays, rest day on Wednesday and interpretive dance on Thursdays, except every second week he has calligraphy instead.  Got it? Having a timetable of your kids’ school routines, activities and chores is good for both your, and your nanny’s, sanity. If it’s written down everyone knows what is happening when, where and how.

Nanny Cheat Sheet

When a new nanny comes into your household – or when a nanny comes in on a once off occasion - it is a good idea to have all the essential information written down. This should include bed times, house rules, emergency numbers, etc. No one wants a lovely romantic dinner disturbed by a nanny asking “what time did you say Tilly can stay up until?”.

As a registered parent you will have access to download cheat sheets and other useful handy parenting resources.
