Meet Amelia Jones...
Super Mum to three, and soon to be four, Amelia is also the owner of Mae Woven, an absolute haven for beautfiul handmade goods inspired by culture and people across the world.
When it comes to her favourite brands, she's a 'modge-podge' but cites Zara, Madewell & Free People as a few of her faves.
You’re Mum to?
Leo (age 5), Sailor (age 3), our Vizsla Nora, and baby boy due in January!
Your company, Mae Woven, sells some of the prettiest handmade goods we ever did see. How do you get your inspiration for your products?
I am passionate about traveling and experiencing other cultures. It inspired me so much! We work directly with artisans around the world, importing and exposing their beautiful work. We love products that not only are beautiful, but have stories and soul!
Your secret indulgence?
My husband makes fun of me for this, but after a long day, I love eating good food in my bed, while watching a show! Lately it's Game of Thrones.. addicted!
We all know that parenting doesn’t always go to plan...some recover with a cup of tea, others with a glass of wine. What’s your motto when things aren’t quite panning out as you’d hoped?
I try really hard to remember that “tomorrow is a new day!” Instead of getting super down on myself or the situation, mentally knowing that it’s temporary and there is always a fresh start ahead, helps me keep a healthy state of mind.
You have great sense of style – what are a few of your favorite labels?
I am a total modge podge! My go to’s are Madewell, Zara, Free People, etc, but I always fill in with whatever I see that inspires me! We have some great local Boutiques, I love checking out as well.
Who inspires you?
The first person that came to mind is my mom. I can’t think of one selfish decision she has made. She devotes her life to her kids and her love is unmatched.
You never leave home without…?
My Hydroflask full of icy cold water!
It’s 5 o’clock (somewhere)...what’s your drink of choice?
I don’t drink alcohol, but I live on green tea!
Your best beauty tip?
Smile! No amount of make up can help an unfriendly face.
If you could fly anywhere for 24 hours, where would you go?
I did some schooling abroad in Florence, and I still crave the flourless chocolate cake I got at a bakery there. I would probably fly there just to eat another bite and drive through Tuscany during sunflower season!
What is your present state of mind?
I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant, so dealing with the emotions and bodily changes that come along with that. This will be our last baby, so I am trying hard to relax and enjoy it all. Also, I’m trying to be kind to myself and remember what a blessing it is to be able to carry another life inside of me! Our bodies are amazing.
Your perfume is?
I tend to stop wearing perfume while pregnant, because most likely I would hate it afterward! But I am especially into candles right now and anything cinnamon!
In three words, describe yourself as a mum.
Concerned, silly, nurturing.
