Super Dad

Meet Ben Lucas.

He is the proud new dad of little Oliver and Director of Flow Athletic.

Ben is a bonafied health guru; we’re talking ultra marathons, yoga – oh and, he’s a former NRL player. Add in to the mix, his new health series; “The Fitness Passport” in which well-known and respected trainers travel around Australia trialing new workouts.

Amongst all of that, Ben importantly places family first – work second. No wonder he wishes there were more hours in the day!

As a Dad, I am…

Completely besotted and getting better everyday.

Super Dad

What trait in people do you admire?

Honesty and work ethic.

I would trade X for X...

I would trade anything for more hours in the day.

What positive attributes do you hope to instill in your kids?

The belief that they can achieve anything if they focus and work hard enough.

Super Dad

What frustrates you?

‘Tall Poppy Syndrome’ in Australia and people that don’t work at my speed.

People impress you when…

They can unashamedly be themselves and not really care what others think.

In 5 years from now, I hope to be…

Not working so many hours and spending more time with my beautiful family.

Super Dad

What sort of a role do you envisage playing at school working bees?

More of the ‘visionary leadership’ role.

Your stance on feeding kids sugar?

Everything in moderation, even moderation

Beer or wine?

Neither, I am a teetotaler.

What do you trust more in business; instinct or gut?

Data; the numbers don’t lie.

But sometimes you have to jump off the cliff and see if you FLY!

Current headspace?

As long as I get to spend some time with my son Oliver in the morning and I am home by bath time that night, then it doesn’t matter what happens during the day - the world is a magnificent place.

Super Dad

Your cologne is…?

Creed Aventus.

What is the most precious thing you possess?

I’m not huge on material things. A Rolex my wife bought for me for our wedding, my kindle and a photo of my mother and I a few years back.

Super Dad

Words you swear by?

If opportunity doesn’t knock build a door.

Being a dad has taught me…

What is important in life. Which is; family 1st, everything else 2nd.

With love,

My Super Nanny.
