The ‘no jab, no play’ law will be introduced in the coming weeks by the Victorian State Government and coming into effect on January 1st after it followed moves by the Federal Government of ‘no jab, no pay’ campaign which came out in April 2015.

Under the new ‘no jab, no play’ laws pre-school children will be banned from attending kindergarten and child care unless they have been vaccinated.

Health Minister Jill Hennessy said “We are getting tough on this issue because it's important that we start addressing things like a significant increase in whooping cough.

"We know the spread of things like measles is becoming more virulent” and “ Vaccinations save lives”.

There has been 1000 more whooping cough cases this year compared to 2014.

"We know that it is absolutely essential to get your children vaccinated if you can and only if there are medical reasons as to why a child can't be vaccinated will that be acceptable."

Vaccination rates in Victoria have hovered around 92 per cent for a number of years but that number has plateaued which brings on the cause of the 'no jab, no play' law into efferct to increase these vaccination rates.

What is your say, parents? Are you going to vaccinate your children so they can attend pre- school? Or are you against this?
